Fuerteventura (Canary Islands) Hotels
Famous for its great sand dunes and its windmills, Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canaries archipelago and is the least populated. The beauty of this island is its sense of isolation. Though a holidaymaker’s hotspot, Fuerteventura is greatly disaffected by tourism.
Places to see while here might include a visit to the peaceful town of Corralejo and a wander round the slightly more busy main town of Puerto del Rosario. As well as Lanzarote, its island neighbour, Fuerteventura enjoys some pretty strong winds. For this reason, windsurfing and parasailing are popular activities on the island. Other activities here include horse riding, golf and of course sun bathing!
An escape from its livelier next -door neighbour, many holidaymakers on the island are there for a day trip. Accommodation on the island is around but in shorter supply than other holiday destinations. If it is a quiet, tranquil stay you are after on an island of paradise, Fuerteventura is the destination for you.
